If you need help in replacing these files, post on the Forums at for help. THESE FILES DO NOT KEEP THE REPAIRS FROM WORKING YOU MAY STILL RUN THE REPAIRS IN THE PROGRAM. The SFC (System File Checker) doesn't scan and replace some of these files, so you may need to replace them manually. Your program runs good, i have run in safe mode and not just to see if any difference and cannot tell if there is any. This should give Shane or Julian more to go on if I'm unable to help. If you have any Critical listed other than Event 41, do the same with those but mark them as Critical. You can also repeat that procedure after trying to run WR. With each event highlighted you can click on Copy/Copy details as text in the lower right pane then right click in the reply box and select Paste. When they come up you can click on the relevant events which will give a brief description in the lower pane and clicking on the blue online help link may give more info. click on Errors then on Show All Instances of This Event in the lower right pane. When the window comes up with Critical, Errors etc. This article will show you how to access Event Viewer

While you haven't said which Windows version you are running, from what you've posted about using the dism cmds, I assume you are using Win 8.1 ? I don't know why WR fails to run but can you try the update again and after it has failed, go into Event Viewer and post the events with the immediate date and time stamps.
